Add-on parts are great when you're looking for incremental performance increases, but when you want a massive increase in power there's no substitute for a high-performance engine. Any rebuilt engine will probably make your car or truck run somewhat better than the tired mill that's presently under the hood, but an Replace engine is so much more than an ordinary rebuilt engine and will deliver so much more power because an Replace High Performance Engine is designed to be better than new in every way. With Replace it's what's inside that matters, and the parts and processes that Replace puts into every engine proves it.

First, the engine specialists at Replace reverse-engineer the engine to eliminate any well-known factory defects, then they design the engine to make the most power possible and verify performance on the dyno. In fact, Replace can provide a dyno sheet with most builds. Once the design is finalized, the engine is completely disassembled and cleaned using high temperature bake ovens, washing and blasting equipment. The integrity of all parts to be reused is verified prior to machining to ensure durability. The block is align honed to provide the best surface finish for optimum bearing life, heat transfer, oil clearance, and alignment of the rotating assembly. The block deck is resurfaced parallel to the crankshaft centerline to ensure equal compression and optimal head gasket sealing. The cylinders are bored 90 degrees to the crankshaft centerline and plateau diamond honed to achieve proper cylinder size and surface finish for best compression and oil control.

The crankshaft is ground on index to better than OE clearance tolerances, to assure equalized compression of cylinders for equalized power, and a smooth running engine. Connecting rods are reconditioned using a diamond hone to achieve strict size control, optimal bearing life and best heat transfer, and they're machined perpendicular to the housing bore for true journal alignment and minimal bearing stress. During the blueprinting process tolerances are held to within 0.0002" and the rotating assembly is balanced to within 2 grams of specifications. Cylinder heads are resurfaced, valve guides replaced, and valve seats 3-angle machined for optimal sealing and flow, with high-temperature valve seals installed to provide superior sealing and oil control.

The engine is hand-assembled by professional craftsmen using new pistons, rings, bearings, timing components, oil pump, and gaskets. All parts meet or exceed OE specifications and name brand components are used from such industry stalwarts as Edelbrock, Holley, Ford Racing, AC Delco, ARP, Scat, Comp Cams, Crane Cams, Lunati, Manley, Speed Pro, KB Pistons, Clevite 77, Fel Pro, Moroso, Probe, and JE. Finally, the engine is tested under its own power to verify compression, oil flow, and pressure.

Replace offers 4 different types of performance engines, a short block, which includes a cylinder block assembled with pistons, piston rings, and crankshaft; the Stage 1, which includes short block, camshaft, timing set, cylinder heads, valve covers, timing cover, oil pump, pickup tube and oil pan; Stage 2, which includes Stage 1 plus an intake manifold, distributor, water pump, front damper and flex plate; and Stage 3, which includes Stage 2 plus carburetion, spark plug wires and spark plugs. Every engine is backed by Replace's exclusive 24 month/unlimited miles warranty.

Replace® is dedicated to providing original equipment (OE) quality body parts and lights without the high OE price. Rather than deal with so-called "universal" parts that may or may not fit your vehicle, Replace sells only parts that have OE quality fit, function and appearance. They believe such parts should be affordable so you can repair your vehicle to its former state, restoring your pride of ownership and preserving its resale value. With Replace parts you can just say no to high dealer prices.
