Features
- Mounts behind your existing shift lever. When the transmission shifter is pulled into low gear, the electric solenoid is powered, and "cocks" automatically. You stage and launch the car normally
- 1-1/2 amp "holding coil" keeps the unit cocked until your engine reaches the selected rpm - at which point electrical power is cut to the solenoid, and our spring mechanism automatically shifts the transmission from 1st to 2nd gear
- Only two moving parts so shifting is extremely consistent and reliable. Since spring action does the shifting, this unit is not affected by voltage changes, vibration, moisture, condensation, or temperature
- No maintenance is required; just install it and forget it
- Because nothing connects to your shift lever, you can still make "manual" shifts at will. A manual override provision allows you to shift yourself, and also to test the Solenoid Shifter in the pits or staging lanes before making a pass - even without the engine running
- The shift unit mounts on a lightweight bracket directly behind forward pattern, gate style shifters
- For dragster type applications that locate the shift lever between the driver's legs, the shifter and Solenoid Shifter can be turned around backwards. (For use in reverse shift pattern applications, the customer must fabricate a simple, swing away bracket.)
- Like all Dedenbear products, our Solenoid Shifters are engineered both for winning performance and longest possible life. The units are permanently lubricated. Our hard chromed, ground shaft rides in a bronze bushing inside the solenoid. The aluminum mounting brackets are black and red anodized for corrosion resistance. The units can be purchased with or without an RPM2 switch module or ST1 shift timer
