Volkswagen Routan Trailer Hitches

    About Volkswagen Routan Trailer Hitches

The Volkswagen Routan is a minivan that finds use in many people’s daily lives. It is a four door minivan that comes replete with tantalizing specs that have been designed to suit the needs of every other passenger in it. In fact, the cargo area is also so well designed that you will never have to raise a complaint about it. When travelling in a Volkswagen Routan today, you have plenty of space not forgetting that the Volkswagen Routan trailer hitches are all but a pleasant pleasure to have on the car. You can actually tow any type of load to any place when using a Routan trailer hitch. When going for a road trip or when you want to take your son or daughter to a boating experience, you will definitely find the hitches that CARiD has very useful.

There are basically two types of Volkswagen Routan trailer hitches that you can use on your car. The two - receiver and knob hitches - are very broad in their applicability as well as their shape and strength. A buyer will therefore have to determine first the type they want based on the amount of loads to be towed and trailer size to be used. This can however be solved easily once you know the difference between the various types of knob and receiver trailer hitches available at CARiD. Because the Routan is a 3.6 L going up to 4.0 L engine, a buyer will actually find no need to concentrate on the Class I and II which are perceivably meant for the much lighter cars. You will need to go for the Class III onwards when choosing the right hitch for a Volkswagen Routan. There are experienced experts at the shop who will advice you on the same.

Here at CARiD we have a loyal set of customers, and they are very involved with their cars. That means using them in many ways, or racing them or towing them to car shows on trailers. They know towing, is what we’re saying. And 13 of them left a number of reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. We know you’ll feel the same way after towing your toys around, whether it’s a race car, a trailer full of quads or motorcycles or personal watercraft or full-on camper. CARiD has the parts you need to support your hobby!

When you’re setting up your trailer with a new tow vehicle, several things need to be considered: the ball mount and ball must be rated to take the weight, and the ball has to be at the right height. Once you have determined the proper weight class, choose a ball mount of a high enough class for your trailer, and set up your ball mount and ball for proper towing. Here's how you do that.

"Easy to install. Took about 1hr. VW did it right providing the welded nuts to the frame and a guide as to where to cut for the hitch."

"Hitch is easy to install after the bumper cover is removed. The information should tell the buyer that they there is a possibility of needing a new towing computer model for the car too."

"Curt Rear Trailer Hitch. This was very challenging to install by myself as I am 78 years old, however, the instructions and video plus other visual aids made installation a sort of easy for me (and I am not that mechanically inclined). If I had another person to assist me, it would have been easier, but, the final results were well worth it. The wiring was actually easier than I thought and I am So Satisfied. I will purchase more products. "

"Adjustments are quick, just requiring the pulling of the cotter pins and their cross bolts, sliding the adjustable mount up or down, then re-attaching the bolts and pins. For the price, this mount can't be beat!"
