The Subaru Outback is a capable wagon which is a pleasure to drive on a paved surface and which can easily tackle countryside roads. Its engine packs decent power and performs smoothly as long as all of the related systems, including air intake, fuel delivery, ignition , etc. are in good condition. Spark plug wires are designed to deliver tens of thousands of Volts of electrical current to the spark plugs in order to ignite the gasoline-and-air mixture. Although, as the miles keep adding up on your auto’s odometer, its ignition wires, just like other components and systems, begin to wear out. There are many different signs which can easily point out to you that your auto’s spark plug wires are nearing the end of their service life and will have to be replaced.

The “Check Engine” light can come on, pointing out certain troubles with the ignition wires. Considerable radio interference can occur, with the radio broadcasts interrupted by plenty of harsh static. The EMI interference problem can come up if these wires are improperly protected by conductors. Cracks on the boots and insulation are common and can’t be ignored as the current can get shorted into the engine. Your auto can suffer from poor gas mileage and fail emission tests. Regardless of the issues, our store is your number one place on the web to purchase Subaru Outback spark plug wires, ignition wires & components that will restore adequate electrical performance.

Does Not Match OEM Spec
Karlyn STI® 808 - Spark Plug Wire Set
They look cool, work fine, but are not built correctly. The boots are slightly to long so the covers don't go all the way down. There is a gap between the cover and the valve cover, so water can get into the spark plug hole. That is the purpose of having that piece there, to seal that up. And no, you can't just trim a little off, because the part that snaps onto the plug is set down so far, it is the limiting factor. The wires are also to long, all of them. About a inch to long. Doesn't sound like much but these go through guides all the way and you have to figure out how to route the extra wire at the end somehow, without making it hit any metal. There is a lot of metal to hit, that's why the length is important. What I really don't get is how that can get screwed up. Didn't they take a stock Subaru set and check them before they built these?
