Ford Five Hundred Performance Exhausts

About Ford Five Hundred Performance Exhaust Systems

The Five Hundred, the Ford's offering in the large, full-size sedan segment, has appeared in the market in 2005. Designed to return the customers' attention to passenger cars by Ford, the Five Hundred offered quite a remarkable list of features and advantages. Arguably, the car's greatest virtues were the spacious cabin and trunk, providing more than enough legroom in both front and rear and as much as 21 cubic feet of luggage space. Giving away its Volvo platform origin, the Five Hundred garnered the reputation of the class leader in safety, achieving superior results in crash tests. The AWD is optional, further enhancing the car's all-weather performance; four-wheel ABS and traction control come standard. Interior trim and amenities are befitting a large sedan – you'll find a rich list of convenience options available for the Five Hundred.

It has been a battle of the ages to make exhaust sound like it should. Having less bends or turns will not only improve the sound but also performance. A custom exhaust is always an option for the race inspired and spirited weekend warriors. Our manufactures offer everything needed to build a custom exhaust to your preference.
The consensus opinion among exhaust flow experts is that any V8 engine will benefit from a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe or X-pipe. H-pipes were first installed to quiet this exhaust noise. As with the H-pipe, an X-pipe also affects the sound of the exhaust. With an X-pipe, the two sides of the exhaust system are merged. The exhaust pressure on both banks is equalized and power is increased at all engine speeds.

"I had the garage that I deal with do the install. They told me that it was a simple install and made to match the Bird. The system looks great on the car. I was concerned that is was going to be too loud. When you first start the car and as you are accelerating, it has a nice throaty sound, but as you get up to speed, the sound quiets right up. Very pleased!"

"I installed the Flowmaster Delta 50 on my 97 Explorer because my old, original muffler had seen better days. What I didn't expect was for my vehicle to have such a noticeable increase in horsepower! I can't say enough about how great it sounds when I'm driving down the highway. It has a nice rumble that's noticeable but not too loud. "

"Mild growl slightly louder than stock was an under statement!! They are really loud and prevent conservation at hi-way speeds. I will wait till I take a high way trip and live with them awhile before I decide to keep them or change them."
