The 2022 Taycan sedan got no new or revised mechanical parts. Just like before, it is available with either a 71.0-kWh or 83.7-kWh battery pack. Both packs were improved for 2022. Now they can precondition to higher temperatures which allows for quicker charging. Battery capacity affects the mileage of a car. Besides, one and the same model has different horsepower ratings depending on the battery size. To wit, the 4S equipped with a smaller battery offers 522 horsepower. If it is equipped with the bigger one, it has 562 horsepower. The higher trims, namely the Turbo and the Turbo S, come with an 83.5-kWh battery pack by default. The former offers 670 horsepower. The latter is even more powerful: it makes 750 horsepower. The base version produces either 402 or 469 horses.

A rear-wheel-drive layout is standard here. The higher trims boast an all-wheel-drive setup with an electric motor on each axle. Whatever model you opt for, you will experience all the benefits of a two-speed transmission, viz an improved low-speed acceleration and range. Speaking about the range, it is rated between 199 and 227 miles, depending on the model. Just like before, the Taycan Cross Turismo wagon comes exclusively with the larger battery pack, meaning its power outputs range between 469 and 750 horsepower depending on the version. It comes only as an all-wheel-drive model. Compared to the sedan, the wagon offers a larger rear seat and more cargo space to meet the needs of families better.
