The driving range on a fully charged 800-volt battery pack that contains about four hundred 4-volt cells is more than 310 miles. With its 270 watt per kilogram rating, the Li-ion battery of the Porsche Taycan is one of the densest on the market today. The system supports 800-volt fast charging receiving about 80% of the charge in just 15 minutes. Also, the Taycan will be compatible with 400-volt chargers that fill the battery slower than their 800-volt analogs. Users may charge their vehicles at home using inductive charging pads or sockets. The company continues to widen its charging station infrastructure in the U.S. installing fast-charging terminals with a specially designed contactless payment system in all Porsche dealerships, hotels, golf clubs, and other places popular with Porsche owners.

The 2019 Porsche Taycan features the revolutionary computer brake system. The brake discs have no direct mechanical link to the brake pedal. When the pedal is pressed, it sends a signal to the computer which is programmed to minimize the use of the brake calipers. The body style of the production model is reminiscent of the Cross Turismo concept, except for the extended roof. The minimalist interior design is emphasized by glass panels with touch controls. Even though an electric vehicle (EV) operation usually does not produce much noise, Porsche fans are pleased to hear an original, deep, technology-inspired sound generated by the Taycan during acceleration.
