The Toyota Tacoma brings a range of updates for 2018, led by improvements in safety. All versions of the truck now employ the Toyota Safety Sense P system that encompasses a number of advanced technologies, including pre-collision system, automatic high beams, and automated emergency braking. For 2018, SR and SR5 trims received a revised grille, TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport grades now come with a darker mesh grille, and the Limited grade features the updated chrome one. The latter also got a new leather-trimmed interior. As for powertrain changes, a 5-speed manual was dropped, while a 6-speed manual transmission is still offered for some versions of the Tacoma.

The 2018 Toyota Tacoma offers a pair of potent engines. A 2.7 L I4 that develops 159 hp is the base one, while a 3.5 L V6 capable of producing 278 hp is available as an option. The latter is an advanced Atkinson-cycle engine that uses the corporate D-4S injection system utilizing both port fuel injection and direct injection and VVT-iW technology. Both power plants are teamed with a 6-speed automatic, while the V6 can also be connected to a 6-speed manual. Fitted with an available tow package, the Tacoma is capable of pulling 6,800 lb. The truck employs the strong foundation thanks to ultra-high strength steel in its body and high-strength steel in its frame, forming the basis for durability and dependability. The 2018 Tacoma features a coil-spring suspension in front and leaf spring setup in the rear, delivering not only a steady ride on the pavement, but also excellent off-road capability.

The 2018 Toyota Tacoma offers a comprehensive lineup that consists of 30 models, including 2 cab styles, 2 bed and wheelbase options, and 4×2 and 4×4 configurations. The bed features durable walls that are lighter than steel by 10 percent and sheet-molded composite deck, that’s why it’s ready to take any punishment. Besides, the deck comes with a rail system featuring 4 tie-down cleats and two-tier loading system. Access Cabs come with fold-up seat cushions increasing carrying space and under-seat storage space in the rear. Double Cabs also feature under-seat storage and come with split rear seats and adjustable rear headrests.

Kind of Expensive
The grill itself is well made, but it has built-in bolts and either they're off a bit or the included 4mm locking washers are. I had one shear off....luckily only about an eighths inch down and after sanding the bolt a little it was fine. So, if it's feeling very hard to tighten the washers you may want to lightly sand the bolt. Also, for this price you'd think they'd include at least 1 extra washer, but no. Then, the chrome decorative bolts around the perimeter....not chrome, they're plastic. Finally, the mesh pattern has good size openings and you can see right in to the radiator...not a big deal, but it could be for some. Easy install. You tube a compatible year getting the grill removed I'd recommend. The picture of the proper way to install the TSS sensor works, I guess... Just note the angle. Then, as for the sensor, I don't know yet. My OEM emblem broke at one of the clips that are supposed to snap in, so I used a little epoxy and its still drying.
