In 2016, the Italian automaker introduced its reinvented Fiat 124 Spider, a sporty roadster based on the architecture of the MX-5 Miata by Mazda. It’s a true Italian product with a touch of Japanese flavor. The first version, designed by Tom Tjaarda, was presented in 1966 at the Auto Show in Turin and had been produced until 1985. Later, it was marketed as the Pininfarina Spider Azzura. The new two-seater borrowed styling cues from the original Spider, including the elegant Italian design from the 60s with distinctive exterior features such as a soft convertible top, classic body lines, hexagonal-shaped upper grille, and prominent tail lights.
The 2018 Fiat 124 Spider is now available in three versions: Classica, Lusso, and Abarth. The variation of the last model, fitted with a carbon fiber removable hard top, is named the Abarth 124 GT. Its sleek body, painted in Alpi Orientali Grey, gets complementing exterior accessories like gray-finished mirror caps and sits on lightweight black 17-inch alloy wheels. The extras available for order are a rear spoiler and mirror caps made from carbon fiber as well as black bumper trim that traces back to the Abarth 124 Rally. For the 2018 model year, Fiat introduced three new colors: Bleu Scuro, Puro Bianco, and Grigio Chiaro. Apart from that, you can choose from other five popular colors of the previous version. The 2018 update includes the ability to choose individual options packages for different trim levels. The 2018 Spider, same as its 2017 variant, is equipped with a 1.4-liter MultiAir powerdrive producing 140 horsepower paired with a six-speed transmission, either manual or automatic.
Anyone who buys a sports roadster expects to get pure pleasure from driving, and the 2018 Fiat 124 Spider certainly fits in that category. The model offers such comfort features as the Fiat Connect 7.0 infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen display and voice recognition, Bluetooth connectivity, key-less entry and ignition, and comfortable heated seats. The soft top has aluminum top bows and supports. It’s padded with foam, which means that when the top is up, you can continue the conversation with your passenger in a nice and quiet environment. Further improvement can be achieved with countless 2018 Fiat 124 Spider accessories and parts available in our store.
