The Audi TT was released in 1998 and was immediately noticed for its exquisite style and sporty character. In a few years after the release, the TT was at its peak popularity - it ‘starred’ in a movie, was nominated for the prestigious North American Car of the Year award, and got the headlines of all of the popular car magazines. Its annual sales in the U.S. during 2000 and 2001 exceeded 12,000 cars. During next years, the Audi TT had its ups and downs. And while back in 1998 Audi stepped in almost deserted niche of sports compact cars, now it is occupied by such players as the Porsche Cayman, BMW Z4, Scion FR-S, and Nissan 370Z.
2015 welcomed in a fully-redesigned third generation of Audi’s iconic sports car, which came to the U.S. as the 2016 Audi TT. Offered in four-seat coupe and two-seat convertible (roadster) body styles, the TT tried to recapture its original uncompromising spirit and make a splash in a well-established marketplace. Both models are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four engine, which generates 220 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque - enough to accelerate the vehicle from zero to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds. All 2016 Audi TTs are equipped with a six-speed automatic gearbox with the available manual shifting mode and all-wheel drive. Such a setup provides generous fuel efficiency rated at 23 mpg city/30 mpg highway, unflappable handling, and smooth ride.
The 2016 Audi TT’s interior is a remarkable example of a contemporary style and mindful use of electronics. 12.3-inch "virtual cockpit" display comes standard and functions not only as a digital gauge cluster, but as an infotainment system as well, eliminating the need for placing an additional screen on a dashboard. The MMI control knob is also included and is now placed on the center console. Both coupe and convertible body forms provide a decent amount of space for taller people on the front seats, while the coupe’s back row seems to be too tiny to comfortably accommodate an adult person. Back seats, however, can be folded down in order to expand modest 12 cubic feet of cargo space. As for the convertible, it features a 7.5-cubic-feet cargo area.
The 2016 Audi TT is offered in a single trim level, however, you can order an optional Technology package or you can choose accessories and electronics that precisely fit your needs from our selection of 2016 Audi TT accessories and parts.
