Hoods and Trunks are made from 100% ISO-certified, Grade-A carbon fiber material. All VIS Carbon Fiber Hoods and Trunks are manufactured using a two-part construction design. The top layer is composed of carbon fiber material bonded to the hood surface with high-grade epoxy resin, and finished with an ultra-clear (Poly Shield), UV-protective polyurethane coating for a high gloss finish. A one-piece, smooth underside shell is fused to the top layer enhancing the product’s structural integrity. The edges are smoothed by hands to ensure good quality finish all around. In 2014, we further improved on this manufacturing process by introducing the Vacuum Infusion Process (V.I.P.), which utilizes a single-mold vacuum to produce parts that are 10-20% lighter than before while improving durability. We are transitioning our full spectrum of carbon parts to use the VIP process so that our customers can enjoy these improved products without incurring a huge cost increase.

DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS

All VIS fiberglass body kits, bumpers, lips, side skirts, spoilers, and hoods are made of high-quality fiberglass and come with wire mesh if applicable. Professional installation is required. Modification of part is crucial to ensure proper fitment. Please keep in mind that aftermarket parts do not have the same fitment as OEM factory parts. Test fit all body kit parts before any modification or painting (any altering will void returns/exchanges/warranties). Accessories such as fog lights, driving lights, splitters, canards, add-on lips, intake scoops, or other enhancement products are not included, unless specified in the product description.

PRODUCT DISCLAIMER

All fiberglass parts require test fitment before prepping, priming, and painting. Such professional prep work is required for all fiberglass parts. All aftermarket parts require professional installation. Adjustment of latches, hooks, and brackets is sometimes necessary to ensure a "factory like" fit. These are normal body work and installation steps for all products sold, and additional fiberglass work may be necessary, since these are aftermarket parts, and are no way sold or represented as OEM (Original Equipment Market) products. If there are small gaps or trimming that needs to be done prior to painting, this is not considered to be defective, and this is not uncommon with any aftermarket fiberglass companies and their products. Get It Professionally Installed!

The final product looks amazing! However it was a huge pain to install. First off the lid bolted on perfect fit there, thanks God. Because at that point things didn't fit right at all, I had to drill new holes for the license plate, must be European placement holes from factory so we got that fitment and tapped it's ok. Next the holes to run the wires through for the license plate illumination wasn't big enough the factory grommet was twice the size. Next came a huge problem and this is where this trunk lid gets to be massive pain. The plate that holds the license plate illumination was way off. First all of the four studs on back were all wonky none of the studs were straight and one was so cracked it fell off, all four studs had cracking before we installed is so mixed up some high strength epoxy and reinforced them all. Next came more drilling into the precious trunk lid because the illumination plate sat crooked as heck. Also don't tighten the illumination plate up beyond finger tight it will rip studs right out. After about three hours to four hours of drilling tweaking and reinforcement we got it installed. Mind you we build custom cars and this wasn't an easy job for us so don't just take it anywhere to get it installed if you buy it because even an experienced body man will have a tough time and since we had to do so much drilling etc we had to seal everything up with silicone and silicone all bolts so they wouldn't loosen up. Remember our custom fabrication experience is why this fit so well and looked amazing said n done it would be all to east to destroy this while installation if not careful. And finally when installed don't just pop your trunk open!! Hold the trunk lid while opening it could easily spring open so hard it could damage the lid because it's light so I emphasize be careful when opening. I'd give it a higher rating if it didn't require so much customizing but it looks bad a** now.
