Visor & Dash Lights

Visor & Dash Lights

For many years exterior emergency and warning lights have been the only alternative for first-responders and volunteers due to the large dimensions of such lights. However, with the development and evolution of LED technologies, emergency and warning lights became more and more compact, while maintaining great light output and efficiency. Innovative technologies led to the creation of interior emergency and warning lights, which have become a preferred choice of numerous first-responders thank to their ergonomic design, power-efficiency, ease of use and maintenance.

In general, all interior emergency lights can be divided into two main categories, including front and rear ones. The first category includes lights designed to install on a dashboard or attach to a windshield. Usually, these are LED visor light bars or a set of dashboard or windshield mounted light bars. Rear emergency and warning lights are represented by different rear deck light bars or single lamps. Both front and rear emergency and warning lights serve the same purpose, informing other road users of an emergency or a potentially dangerous situation.

Visor mounted lights seem to be the most popular type of interior emergency and warning lights. In most cases they are LED mini size light bars, which can be mounted on either a visor or windshield. Many manufacturers offer both types of installation at the same time, providing different mounting kits per set. Besides, they pack visor lights with multiple flash patterns and in some cases also give users a possibility to create their own flash patterns using an electronic control module. A cigarette lighter plug-and-play control switch or adapter that usually comes with visor light bars also adds to the versatility of such lights, making them the perfect solution for just about any emergency vehicle, including police cars, fire engines, and emergency medical vehicles.

Rear deck lights are the perfect solution if you want to avoid mounting a full-size light bar or beacon light on the roof of your vehicle. They can be used for temporary or discreet lighting by different volunteer responders in their unmarked vehicles or as an additional source of lighting in various emergency service vehicles. Just like visor lights, today's deck lights are manufactured with LEDs which ensure superior energy efficiency and better light output. The design of most deck lights allows the user to wire them to a vehicle's battery or power them using a cigarette lighter adapter. Many deck lights are also compatible with both 12V and 24V power sources which makes it possible to use the same light on different types of vehicles, for example, cars and commercial trucks.
