A tire can be used in extreme winter driving conditions.

Like many other all-terrain tires currently offered in the aftermarket, Toyo AT3 models are angry-looking and trail-eating while at the same time being pretty quiet on the pavement. What makes the difference is that the Open Country AT3 is engineered with a focus on wet performance. Just few of its competitors can offer the same reliable grip and traction in rain.

Thanks to its aggressive tread pattern, this tire easily handles soft, loose, and uneven surfaces. Those who live in areas with light snowfalls will certainly appreciate its ability to bite into snow providing superior traction. Actually, that earned it the right to wear the 3-Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol. Toyo AT3 tires are also durable and have a long treadwear life, meaning you can expect to get many dozens of miles from them. Therefore, there is no wonder that they are among the most popular all-terrain tires.

Excellent All-Terrain Performance
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
It’s not my first time dealing with all-terrain tires. I have tried different models from different brands on my Renegade and my wife’s Blazer. I bought these for my jeep and put more than 5,000 miles on them on and off road. They are really worth their money. Firstly, they are probably the quietest all-terrains I’ve ever had. Secondly, slush, rocks, sand, they do it all with confidence. Yes, they also look cool.

Outstanding Tires and Rim Package from CARiD.
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
I purchased these for my then brand new Rav4 limited hybrid. The factory tires did not impress me with one blowing the entire inner sidewall out in less then a 1000 miles on it! These came mounted and balanced and extremely well wrapped up for shipping. These tires make little to none road or highway noise at all, handle in snow and rain flawlessly and have had zero problems with them. These were mounted on the Xd Grenade rims and look stellar on my Rav4, keeping the same OEM tire and rim size. I get compliments almost daily on my wheels and many people asking me where I got them! I've been a long term customer of CARiD for quite some time and their customer and sales service has never disappointed me, always stellar. I also purchased the Black Horse grill guard seen in the picture from CARiD as well, really compliments my ride. My rating of these tires and rims including the buying and shipping experience is absolutely 5 full stars. Thank you CARiD!

Good Grip and Long Tread Life
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
I’ve had these on my SUV for about 3 years. Now come back and buy them again. Rain, snow, slush, mud, whatever, they run without any issue. These are highly reliable tires with a long tread life, and that determines my choice.

Previously I had a set of AT2s on my truck and was lucky to get 50,000 miles from it. But I didn’t push them hard off road though. Now I’ve bought AT3s and hope to get at least the same mileage. I should admit that these offer better handling and traction on the highways. I’ve tried them on the gravel road already, they work great!

Quiet Tires with Good Off-Road Capabilities
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
While my Colorado spends most of its time on the pavement, sometimes it sees moderate off road use. This is why I needed some good all-terrains that would work well on dirty roads and highways. The guy at the shop recommended that I get these. Well, I don’t regret following his advice! They are exactly what I wanted. They work well on the pavement and provide good off-road grip.

225/60R17 103T on the Forester
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
I’m a first-time buyer of Toyos at all and pleasantly impressed with their performance on the wet road. I didn’t experience any hydroplaning even in heavy rain! They are completely silent on the highways, but I didn’t expect they would. These are all-terrains though.

I can say nothing about their performance on some very rough terrain as I am not an off-roader at all, just a guy mostly driving city streets and highways. Yet I drove on rural roads several times and liked how they performed. They are surprisingly quiet on the pavement and provide excellent grip in rain and light snow. I live in a place where heavy snow is rare, so I guess these are exactly what I need.

After about half a year of running these on wet and dry roads and over uneven terrain, I can recommend them to truck owners who split their time on and off road. They provide excellent grip on wet surfaces and are quiet enough for all terrains even at low speeds while at the same time being reliable companions where the pavement ends. I drove on dirt and gravel roads and over rocky and pretty muddy terrain and didn’t have any issues.

Great Wet Performance
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
I bought these Toyos for my Ram about two years ago and put more than 20,000 miles on them, mainly on the road. The tread looks okay, so I’ll definitely get another 20K miles out of this set. They perform very well in rain, no hydroplaning! That is important to me as I live in Florida where rains are common.

The Best Tire We Had So Far.
TOYO TIRES® - OPEN COUNTRY A/T III
I was on the fence to jump in for the off road type of tire. We do most of our driving on bitumen. However, this tire is sold as off road and also as a decent all season tire too. We took a risk and bought it just before we went on a four week fall trip to Colorado with intent to do some mountain off-roading. I expected some road noise and lower mileage on highway with such aggressive tires... I have to report with grin that our ride is as quiet and as efficient on 225/55R18 size as it ever was. So far, we have driven total of 5000 miles with few hundred miles at temperatures in the upper 90s and about 2000 miles above 80. Tires still look and drive like new. We did several off road drives too adding up to few hundreds of miles. Tires grip off-road much better than regular all season radials we used before, and they do not show any damage from sharp stones they drove through. Rain is not a problem for this tire too. I was surprised to drive through a water standing on a side of a highway at 50mph with no expected jerk on the steering wheel. I do not know how this tire will age, but so far it is a great driving experience. We will keep these tires on our car as our every day tire. They are just better tires than OEM and our first replacement rubber were.

Question:
Are Toyo Open Country AT3 Good in Rain?

Question:
What Is the Difference Between AT2 and AT3?
Posted by Customer / December 08, 2022
CARiD Answer:
The AT3, a successor to the AT2, got a special tread compound and refined tread pattern to provide much better on-road performance without sacrificing off-road capabilities. To wit, it has two fewer circumferential grooves for better lateral traction, more compact tread blocks with evenly distributed gaps between them for better grip and wear, and deeper 3D multi-wave sipes for better traction on wet surfaces. More aggressive shoulders provide enhanced protection. Finally, the AT3 is 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake rated, while its predecessor had just two snowflake rating and was safe to use only in mild snow conditions.

Question:
How Many Ply Is the Toyo AT3?
Posted by Customer / December 07, 2022
CARiD Answer:
That depends on the model. Toyo offers 4-ply rated tires with a standard and higher-than-standard Load Index along with 6- and 8-ply rated models. Those who need stronger tires can go with models with a load range of E which are equivalent of 10-ply units. Finally, there are also 12-ply rated tires available in the Open Country AT3 lineup.

Question:
Is the Toyo Open Country AT3 Loud?
Posted by Customer / December 07, 2022
CARiD Answer:
The AT3 has an aggressive tread pattern which makes it very capable off-road. Despite that, it is surprisingly quiet on the pavement. That became possible thanks to a new tread compound. Surely, it is louder than a tire built for highways but much quieter than most all-terrains.
