With a headquarter in Willich (located near the cities of Düsseldorf), SUPLEX started its business in a little warehouse in Krefeld way back in 1992. The business began to grow very quickly and 4 years later the company moved to Willich. Since then the company has steadily developed and its next relocation happened in 2009. At the same time, the brand changed its name from “SUPLEX Fahrwerkstechnik” to “SUPLEX GmbH”. Before the production launch of every new spring, SUPLEX measures all OE samples with a spring tester. Then the company develops a prototype following the measured parameters. SUPLEX also makes a metallographic examination and performs testing of mechanical materials. There are many other production features. For instance, SUPLEX shot peens the springs which results in surface compression and prolonged service life. To make its coil springs maximally rigid, the company uses leading-edge winding machines. SUPLEX also covers springs with a zinc phosphate coating to protect them from corrosion and preserve the epoxy powder coating. At the final stage, coil springs are checked on the correct longitudinal forces and transverse forces.

Aside from coil springs, SUPLEX provides superior spheres, leaf springs, and preassembled struts. The spheres are TÜV-certified and made to the strictest industry standards for Citroen passenger cars. What’s more, the company subjects all spheres to a pressure test of 150 bar. There are two options on offer - standard and comfort spheres. The latter mentioned enable an upgraded driving experience. SUPLEX provides ready-to-install leaf springs. You can choose from standard and heavy-duty options. Front axle springs include rubber buffer, and rear axle springs include spring eye bushings. SUPLEX also offers preassembled strut kits. It’s more cost-effective to replace the whole kit than to change a single damaged part. No spring tensioning is required which results in improved labor safety. Plus, there is no need for special tools and the installation time is significantly decreased.

SUPLEX mini-block springs feature a moderate-size construction and rugby ball shape. They show a progressive spring rate reached thanks to a tapered wire and changing coil diameter. All this results in a firm setting with a greater payload and a more comfortable suspension when the condition is unloaded. Cylindrical springs are fabricated in a tapered and constant wire. The spring rate is conditioned by wire diameter and coil distance. Conical springs are easily identified by their shape. The coil diameter increases from one end to the other. By variation of the coil distance, a progressive spring rate can be realized at this spring type as well. Side-load springs can compensate transverse and longitudinal forces. The lateral force has a positive effect on the life cycle of the shock absorber.
