Evolution Drilled and Slotted Performance Brake Rotors by PowerStop®. PowerStop drilled and slotted rotors give you the advantages of both drilled holes for cooling and slots to sweep away gas and dust. PowerStop rotors use only the finest blanks and feature G3000 grade castings from the best foundries. All drilled and slotted rotors (except for hub rotor assemblies) are silver zinc plated to resist rust. With a direct OE fit and vane count, there are no special modifications needed on your car, truck or SUV. The drilled and slotted design is our most popular performance rotor for street and day track applications.

Features

  • Cross drilled holes keep brake rotors up to 180°F cooler
  • Precision machined using a Tru-Cast™ technology
  • Rotor run out is within 0.0015 and DTV tolerance specification is within 0.005
  • All Evolution rotors are mill balanced
  • Beveled and precision drill holes help keep rotors temperatures down during extreme braking performance
  • Rounded slots keep a clear contact patch between the pad and the rotor by sweeping away water, gas and dust
  • All drilled and slotted rotors (except for hub and rotor assemblies) are silver zinc plated to helps shield and resist rust during normal operation
  • Slots sweep a clear contact patch between the pad and the rotor
  • Reduces fade
  • Looks great behind custom (or factory) wheels
  • G3000 grade cast iron

Benefits:

  • Slots and drilled holes provide dust and water dissipation
  • Slots help to increase pad bite and improve air circulation
  • Reduce stopping distances in wet weather
  • Improve the appearance of your wheels

PowerStop combines the best of two technologies by cross-drilling and slotting. Don't try to reuse your old discs, even if they still have enough meat on them after refinishing them to meet minimum thickness specifications. A thinner disc is a disc that has less mass. And it takes lots of mass to dissipate heat in a hurry, so get a pair of PowerStop vented, drilled, slotted discs at the same time. Mass soaks up heat quickly during a panic stop, but it takes surface area and moving air to keep the rotors cool on a long downhill or in heavy stop-and-go traffic. Cross-drilling a disc adds surface area for improved cooling, but it also makes a dramatic improvement in braking performance in the rain. Cross drilling keeps water from wedging between the pad and disc surface, making the pad hydroplane, which severely affects braking ability.

Slotting does help some in the rain, although it has other advantages. During a high-speed stop, especially with a trailer or heavy load, the organic binders in the pad material will literally boil. This is normal; the problem is that the outgassing binder turns the pad into a hot little air-hockey puck that barely touches the disc surface. It rides on a pocket of outgassing binder, keeping the pad from contacting a normal, unslotted disc. Slots sweep the gases away, letting you glide to a normal stop in time instead of running that red light at the bottom of the hill with both feet standing on the brake pedal.

PowerStop rotors use only the finest blanks and feature G3000 grade cast iron from the best foundries. Most foundries lower carbon content to increase tensile strength and hardness. PowerStop rotors have a carbon content that is 3% more than competitive brands, while maintaining a 210 Brinell hardness and 250 MPa tensile strength. The cast iron's microstructure is an ideal homogenous matrix of perlitic and graphite flakes. All drilled and slotted rotors (except for hub rotor assemblies) are silver zinc plated to resist rust. Some competitors use cadmium plating that is highly toxic, and a significant cancer risk. Cadmium is banned in Europe and with all major vehicle manufacturers.

Founded in 1997 in Southern California, PowerStop® began with the goal of bringing the benefits of superior brake components at a reasonable cost to street performance and backyard performance enthusiasts everywhere. Company management and engineers believed then, as they do today, that better brakes make driving more enjoyable and safer for any vehicle, terrain, and driving style – not just street performance. They developed a philosophy that while brake components cannot be superior without the most advanced materials, they also cannot perform in a superior fashion without matching the exact tolerances of each and every individual vehicle they are created for. Relentless development and testing led to brake pads, rotors, drum shoes, and other related components that delivered uncompromising fit and operation, and PowerStop’s customer base grew exponentially from positive word of mouth. The company still has its original passion for creating the best products at the best possible prices, so when it comes to replacement brake components for your vehicle, PowerStop is the only name you need to know.

Car just passed the 100k mark, and I've been wanting to do this for some time, so I figured now would be it. They don't necessarily bite much harder than before (running some lifetime warranty Autozone ceramic pads) but the brake fade over. OEM is much better and they hold for much longer, which is what I was looking for.

Very smooth and cool looking rotors. They tend to rust up over night, but once you drive the rust shaves off as you brake. Very durable and I've had them for a little over a year and they haven't even warped. One important thing to understand about these rotors, is that they have to warm up a bit because the brake pad will slide a bit if the rotors are too cold. Also, they don't make unwanted noises while you take your foot off the brake pedal.

I would recommend Power Stop.Had no issues ordering thru CARiD, I received them on time. Allow a week for Brake to Break in, might hear a rubbing sound at 1st. Less brake dust and smell.

I've had them on for 7 months now and I love them. I get quite a few complements on them as well. The instillation was a perfect fitment, as well as the pads that came with them. There is definitely an increase in stopping power, although I only have the front installed. I would definitely buy these again.

These are ok if money is tight as in my case they only lasted two years just looked at them today it’s 10/19/2020 the slotting isn’t there anymore the brake pads still are at half life on them

I absolutely love this product, in addition to the front rotor kit which I also purchased. They allow more much further stopping power, and this is the primary reason I went with this brand, they look sharp too. If you don`t have all the money to buy the whole braking system, which might cost several thousand dollars, these will do just fine with your conventional calipers and stock braking systems that are used on most conventional vehicles.

I drive a 2013 Focus ST and with close to 60,000 miles the rear rotors were toast. Time to upgrade to these PowerStops. They definitely look cool on the car but let's face it rotors are all about stopping performance. The stock brake set-up on an ST is phenomenal so I didn't want to lose that. So far these guys fit the bill. They feel just as good as the stocks if not better. CARiD provides great service so you can never go wrong ordering with them. We had a little snafu in that I had ordered a whole set front and back but only backs came. UPS claimed the fronts arrived from the manufacturer damaged or the box was empty. Since I had a small window of time to use my buddies garage and lift I had to cancel the fronts and they made that super easy. I'll definitely order from these guys again!
