Oil Catch Can Kit by Mishimoto®. The Subaru Crosstrek is one of the most versatile vehicles on the market today. It's an efficient grocery hauler, comfortable daily driver, and capable off-road adventure seeker. Like most Subarus, the Crosstrek was built to go the distance with its time-tested 2.0L flat-four FB20D engine, but the second-generation Crosstrek received an efficiency update that could threaten its longevity. The 6’ of black rubber hose allows you to easily splice the black nylon ball valve into the hose wherever works best for you! The included 3/8” to 3/8” hose barb black nylon ball valve, which makes draining the can a breeze, and three worm-gear clamps make installing this petcock drain plug a breeze.
Notes
- After installation, Mishimoto recommends checking the contents of the baffled catch can every 1,000 miles until a baseline is established. Oil blow-by accumulation will vary with ambient temperatures and driving conditions. It is important that the contents of the can do not rise above the internal baffle. 22 in-lbs (2.5N*M) recommended for all worm-gear clamps. These clamps have an operating range of 18-27 in-lbs 2-3N*M. Do not exceed the maximum torque rating of 27 in-lbs (3N*M)
- This is a Race Only product that is to be used solely for competition. It cannot be used on vehicles that are operated on public streets, roads or highways. The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can was designed to separate oil particles from the PCV air that would normally have just been routed back to your intake. Custom grooves in the catch can's inlet turbulates the air longer and ensures all the oil sinks to the bottom of the can, leaving nothing but clean air to pass through the bronze filter to the intake. An internal baffle keeps the collected oil from splashing around under race conditions.
