Impressive and elegant, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is an extremely popular SUV with total North American sales that exceed 4.3 million units. This remarkable vehicle offers a spacious cabin with plenty of legroom in the rear, a large trunk, superior fuel economy, responsive steering and a smooth ride. It is possible to choose between several powerful V6 and V8 engines connected to an automatic transmission (eight-speed); starting in 2011, all models are equipped with an independent suspension system. The Grand Cherokee is assembled in Detroit, Michigan; the model won numerous awards for safety, luxury, and off-road capability.
The basics of an engine are very simple: the cylinder is filled with the air-fuel mixture that is ignited; burnt gasses make the piston move; the energy of movement is transferred to the wheels. Some engines use carburetors for blending air with fuel, while others rely on fuel injection. It is very important that the ratio between the air and fuel be optimal: if there is something wrong with the carburetor, the fuel consumption goes up and the engine loses its power.
