Modern vehicles incorporate a variety of sensors that are used by control systems to deliver maximum performance. The engine crankshaft position sensor determines the position and rotational speed of the crankshaft and sends signals to the ECM (engine control module). The engine computer analyzes this information and calculates the injection timing, ignition timing, and engine RPM.
