The Porsche 944 appeared in 1982 as a front-engined rear-wheel-drive sports car that was based on the underpinnings of the Porsche 924. It was quicker, more comfortable, stopped better and looked better. Under the hood sat a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produced 143hp. In 1985 the 944 Turbo was launched with 217hp and much bigger brakes, and in 1987 it got side airbags as standard. In 1988, the Turbo S was launched with 250hp and adjustable suspension. In 1991 the Porsche 944 was pensioned off in favor of the new Porsche 968. Haynes Manuals Porsche 944 repair manual is here to help you through every stage of servicing or fixing your car.
