PCV Breather Element (CB17) by Hastings®. The crankcase ventilation system channels harmful crankcase vapors to the air intake so they can be burned along with the air/fuel mixture. The Crankcase Breather Filter filters the air that is drawn through the crankcase to mix with the vapors.

Crankcase vapors include oil vapor, combustion blowby, and moisture. These gases must be allowed to escape from the crankcase or pressure could build up causing gaskets and seals to fail resulting in leaks, and to prevent oil contamination which could reduce the oil’s effectiveness and usable lifespan. However, because these gases contains large amounts of hydrocarbons and other gases, they cannot be released into the atmosphere. The crankcase ventilation system draws air through the crankcase and channels the air and vapors into the intake air stream, where they can be added to the air/fuel mixture and burned. The Hastings Crankcase Breather Filter will ensure only clean air is drawn into the system for superior engine protection.

Warranty

Hastings Premium Filters (“Hastings”) warrants that each new product manufactured by Hastings will be made free of defects in workmanship and material. Hastings will replace any product found to be defective when you return it to Hastings or to your Hastings distributor where you purchased the product.

Warranty Fulfillment. If Hastings finds that a returned product does not meet the warranty stated above, Hastings will promptly replace the defective product. If the defective product directly caused damage to the machine on which it was installed, Hastings will promptly reimburse the machine owner for that portion of the repair costs that were necessary to restore the machine to its condition immediately prior to the damage caused by the defective product.

Conditions. Hastings’s warranty fulfillment obligations above do not apply if:

the product is not returned to Hastings for analysis
Hastings finds that the product was not defective
the product was improperly installed or used
the product was reused or not replaced inside a normal service interval
the product is tampered with or damaged in a manner that may inhibit Hastings’ ability to conduct a warranty investigation

The above warranty and warranty fulfillment obligations are exclusive and in lieu of all other warranties or related remedies. Hastings is not liable for indirect, incidental, punitive or consequential damages arising in any way from the products it manufactures or sells.
