Anybody that's been around automobile restoration for a while can see there's a need for sheet metal replacement parts like fenders and quarter panels. But it takes a company run by actual car restorers to really know what's needed in every area of the body, and then make those parts to the original specifications. Goodmark manufactures body parts not only to restore your classic's appearance, but to make sure it's structurally sound.

Restoring cars isn't just a business for the people at Goodmark, they're also car enthusiasts and restorers just like you, and they wouldn't make anything they wouldn't install on their own cars or trucks. Each body part is CAD/CAM designed to make sure it exactly replicates the original part, and then it's manufactured with the most modern tooling. Each design is test fit to make sure it looks and fits perfectly. Goodmark makes many body parts to fix problems, caused by everything from rust to modifications made by previous owners. For example, they make deck filler panels, the panel between the trunk lid and rear window, because they know this panel is susceptible to rust on certain cars. They manufacture the trunk weatherstrip gutters because these are not included with a factory quarter panel, and they make floor shift humps for manual transmission cars, because so many classic and muscle cars had the floor cut in this area to install an aftermarket shifter. Warranty

Goodmark warrants its parts to the original purchaser, to be free from defects in manufacturing and materials for a period of 120 days from the original date of purchase. Goodmark also will require pictures of the defect prior to a claim being filed. Liability of Goodmark under this warranty is limited to the replacement of the defective part or a refund of the purchase price of the product. Goodmark hereby disclaims all other warranties, whether expressed or implied, including but not limited to all warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Goodmark is not responsible for damage caused by abuse, incorrect installation, modification, shipping, accidents or normal wear; nor is Goodmark responsible for labor charges, inconvenience or other expenses related to installation or use of Company products.

Goodmark Sheet Metal FYI Due to the nature of the material and production, the sheet metal products you receive may have scratches, dings, small dents and other minor imperfections which are considered normal. These imperfections will easily be corrected during the initial filling, priming and sanding of your repair or restoration. Goodmark does not consider dings, minor dents, scratches in the EDP primer or any other minor imperfection to be defective or damaged. ALL sheet metal panels will require some preparation and manipulation during the installation process for a show quality fit and finish. Goodmark recommends that all sheet metal panels should be test fit before any prep work or paint is applied. Minor modifications such as elongating mounting holes, adding shims, etc, are normal and may be necessary when you are installing the product.

A few key facts to note are: Some driving conditions such as racing can put added stress on a vehicle's frame causing it to twist out of the factory's original tolerance specs. Poorly performed body work from a previous collision or restoration can cause problems with the body structure to which the panels are attached. A vehicle that has been sitting motionless, collecting rust, etc. for years may have developed a slumping frame, especially a sub framed car, which can cause fitment issues when installing new sheet metal products such as floor pans, fenders, doors and quarter panels.

The above mentioned situations are just a few key examples that can cause sheet metal panels to be misaligned during a repair or restoration. One other fact to consider is the tolerances on a classic vehicle were not nearly as exact as they are on today's modern vehicles. The primary reason is the assembly of most vintage or classic cars was performed by hand, not by the robotics that are used in today's modernized facilities. Because of this, the mounting points and bolt-holes were unique to each vehicle. Due to the above procedures performed in the past there really is no such thing as a direct, "bolt on" body panel when it comes to older vehicles. Goodmark recommends that you hire a licensed professional that possesses the proper tools, knowledge, skills and experience necessary to install the new panels on your vehicle. A professional can anticipate or repair any imperfections your panels may have prior to installation.
