The GMC Sprint was the first passenger car by the General Motors Company. The production of this model started in 1971 and ended in 1977, when the company switched its focus to the GMC Caballero. The vehicle had three generations and was closely related to the Chevrolet El Camino, which in turn was based on the Chevrolet Chevelle. The GMC Sprint was marketed as a more sporty and luxurious version of its Chevrolet counterparts.
