Hydraulic Power Steering Rack and Pinion Cradle Kit (FR307KTPWNC) by Flaming River®. Flaming River has now engineered the popular rack and pinion cradle systems for big block or small block 1955-57 vehicles. This system replaces the early long shaft steering box with an optional new Tilt column. All mounting hardware, pump, bracket, reservoir and universal joints are also included for a complete kit—hoses are sold separately. By mounting the rack on the cradle system, we not only reinforce the chassis, but also provide increased ground clearance. This true fixture welded mounting cradle fits between the frame rails and bolts in place using the original chassis location. No suspension modification is required and the system installs easily with hand tools. Full turning radius is engineered into the system. All-New Rack and Pinion Cradle Systems for Classic, Perfor-mance, and Muscle Cars. Flaming River’s Rack and Pinion Steering Systems continue to expand by customer demand. Rack and Pinion Kits enable classic vehicles to have the benefits and safety of modern steering, without any chassis modification—no cutting, drilling, or welding required! All Flaming River Rack and Pinion Systems retain the full factory turning radius and are Made in the USA.
Notes
- For small block vehicles, we recommend Flaming River #FR50001C small block headers to avoid clearance and fitment issues. For big block vehicles, exhaust modification or replacement may be required.
