The Cadillac CTS sedan was launched in 2003, with rear-wheel drive and a manual gearbox. The engine range kicked off with a 3.2-liter V6 which was subsequently replaced by a 3.6-liter V6 engine. In 2004, Cadillac also launched the CTS-V high-performance sedan, which was intended to take sales from rapid rivals from Audi, BMW and Mercedes. The original CTS lasted until 2008, when the all-new model went on sale. Its smallest engine was a 3.0-liter V6. The new car had more space inside, as well as more luxury and safety equipment. A coupe version went on sale in 2010, as did a new CTS-V. An estate model also appeared.
