The Chevrolet Parkwood was a full-size station wagon introduced alongside its sibling Chevrolet Kingswood in 1959 as a part of the Bel Air lineup. These two models were actually quite similar, mainly differing in the interior configuration: the Kingswood provided seats for nine passengers, the Parkwood could accommodate six people. When in 1961 the Kingswood was discontinued, the Chevrolet Parkwood was also made available with a nine-seat configuration. Cutting edge under many respects, the Parkwood featured a huge body and a low profile that gave the model a unique road stance, exalted by the outstanding design of the wing shaped tailfins and cat-eye rear lights. In 1962, Chevrolet started to name wagons after the series, hence the Parkwood badge was also dropped.

The Chevrolet Parkwood is universally considered a pearl in the collectors world, deserving, however, special attention to be kept in perfect shape.
