The Chevrolet Laguna was a mid-size muscle car introduced in 1973 that represented the top line of the Chevelle series. For the first year, the model was available as a 2-door coupe, 4-door sedan, and 4-door station wagon; starting in 1974, the model was rebadged the Laguna Type S-3 and only the coupe variant was offered, serving as the performance version of the Chevelle. The body was elegant, featuring an impressively massive hood. Different engines were available, the most powerful was a 454 CID V8 producing 235 HP. The interior was decidedly made upscale for the coeval standard, introducing patterned cloth, vinyl, and woodgrain inserts on the dashboard. The Chevrolet Laguna proved successful in many NASCAR races. The model was eventually dropped in 1976.
