Replacing the stereo in a late-model GM car has a down side: the seatbelt chime and the turn signal click are actually piped through the stereo and into the speakers. New stereo = no chime. Ding…Ding…Ding…Ding. That's the sound of your GM car's seatbelt warning chime. And you can't hear it any more. (Is that really a bad thing? Just asking…) It's been conspicuously absent, along with the ticking of the turn signals and some other alert noises from the instrument panel, ever since you replaced your cheesy GM radio with one that's more modern, more capable and more powerful. No surprise, because the General has been doubling up lately, and using the stereo and speakers to generate those sounds. If you want those sounds back, you'll need to install this interface, which intercepts these sounds in the harness and passes them on.
