The production run of the Aston Martin DBS lasted for 13 years overall but was divided into 2 phases. For the first time this grand tourer was manufactured from 1967 to 1971. Since 1972 it was replaced by the V-8 which was positioned as the company's flagship for that time. In 2007, a refined luxury version of the model under the DBS V12 nameplate was introduced. Like its predecessor, the 2007 DBS wasn't in production for a very long time - just for 8 years (till the 2014 model year). There was a very powerful front mid-mounted 6.0L V12 engine capable of 510 bhp under its hood, so this Aston Martin accelerated to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds. There were a little bit more than 4,000 of the first DBS versions manufactured and approximately 3,400 of the DBS V12 models.
