APG® - 2" Square Tube Black Side Armors

Installed these on my 2018 Ford F250 and they've been a great addition. Look good on my truck. The price is reasonable. Will see how they hold up.

My truck is a Ford F150 2004 This is a really nice product and seams to be really well made. Once you figure out the mounting method to use and yes 2 people makes installation a lot easier. Each trucks brackets might be different in style, becuse mine deinitely don't look like the video. 1. These are NOT 2" square tubes at all. There is not a single 2" tube anywhere. They are 1 3/8x1 1/4 or up to 1 3/4 x 1 3/8. They are not like video makes it look - thick. They are more rectangular in shape. Each of the three tubes different sizes. 2. My mounting bracket only has 1 bolt hole with a single flange and has about 1/4" of bite for top and bottom to hold on too, 1/2" overlap tab top and bottom would be a better bite. Again look closely at the video, the video shows a big beefy "T" flange with 2 bolts thru to connect to another beefy bracket, with a big metal tab bite to top and bottom of pipes. Mine has to have these metal shim tabs to take up the space in the brackets, because they are using smaller and different size tubes on top from bottom. ( cutting some corners I think) 3. Also they supplied 1 mounting bolt that passes thru the bottom truck body at the bottom. Directions say M10x1.5 bolt, well they ship all 1" bolts. So when mounting the bracket. it is made with a slight angle so when you put the washers on your left with 1 thread to try to grab into. Had to go to Home Depot and buy Real 1.5" stainless steal bolts. That little bit extra allows for a better connection. 4. This is all maufacturing and quality control issues. Other than that, they seam to be really sturdy. Time will Tell.

Equipped my '20 f250 with these and I can say they are an excellent investment. Their build quality is evident, and they look amazing on my black f250. Instructions are clear, installed them myself with the mounting hardware included. I'd highly recommend these steps

Feel sturdy. Install took about 2 hours with a helper.

Installing very easy, I have 35 inch tires and 6-in lift the rub on every turn.

The installation guide and instructions did not give a complete explanation of the how's, why's, and when to uses each item contained within the installation kits. For example a long bolt welded to an aluminum piece... Ok I though to myself what's this for? It's a good thing I able to figure it out, it just so happens I found out by mistaking many mistakes. Not good look guys for those of you who are writing the installation instructions. If you can't get it in two or three pages then provide a link that has video's and a clear explanations of each item and it's "potential use." It's not rocket scientist stuff guys, dumb it down. I guess the most important thing is to remember if you are asking someone who is not "mechanically inclined" to figure it out, then you've lost a customer... End of story. After much frustration two stars is all I can give for installation - however; the product is nice looking once it is on and time will tell about its longevity.

My only complaint with these, something I hadn't thought about, is how they would handle in the snow. The open tubework frame seems to collect ice and snow - they are literally a solid block of ice once it freezes. After 6 months, still sturdy though and no rust (they are aluminum, but you never know these days - my stainless steel screws from home depot always seem to rust).

I installed these on my 2019 Ram Power Wagon (2500 frame) and they went on with minimal interference as CARiD Described. They look good and support me (250lbs). The instructions are terrible... but you can YouTube other videos and get a rough understanding of how they go on. Directions followed to the T. They do fit the 2021 Gladiator, but are more of an off-the-shelf type product. Nice look though. Some obvious differences in the design from the pictures in the listing.

CARiD has a video posted of how these fit another brand of truck. For the 2021 Jeep Gladiator, you must know The Positive - These look pretty mean. Very attractive. - Easy to install. Decent Directions. Took about 45 minutes for the first side and 25 minutes for the second side. Give yourself 2 hours if you are not handy. - Lightweight and strong feeling - Nice welds The Drawbacks - These mount below the pinch weld with the entire pinch weld still visible, as well as the mounting holes. - These utilize 3 out of the 4 mounting points, and for the third mounting point, they use a different bracket that only utilizes one of the two holes for this mounting point. Visually, it looks like a bolt is missing once mounted. - You have to tighten washers against the paint on the pinch weld. Not sure how this will wear. - The running boards are approximately 2 inches short of covering the entire length of the side of the vehicle in my opinion. They are adjustable though, so you can decide if you want to split the difference, or have the shortage towards the front or back of the vehicle... just the actual step pads don't really align with both doors well. - Lightweight - only 23 pounds each, so they are not going to take a beating well offroad. They do feel strong though. - Ends have plastic caps that are very loose, these will fall off eventually, which in the video appeared to be welded end caps. - I was shorted two washers and one bolt. Home Depot carries the right size, but they do not carry ones with the same head. You will also need black paint then. Make sure to get stainless and not zinc if you get shorted bolts/washers. - These do not follow the curve of the body. They provide several spacers, but due to the curve of the body, these stick out about 1 inch at the back if you do not use the spacers. Would I do these again? Yes.
