Torxe Tailgate Assist

I was pleased with the ease of mounting this device. However, I was not pleased with the sudden drop that occurs when opening the tailgate. The dampening does not start until the tailgate is almost-3-4 inches, from complete opening. I don't know if this is normal, or maybe my cylinder is defective. I just thought it would let the tailgate down slowly from the very start, which it doesn't. Thank you, Craig Robertson.
