2011 Ford F-150 Tool Boxes

First thing first, make sure you have someone to help. I like doing things like this alone, it helps me get out of the house and away from life for a bit. You can do this alone but having someone help is a huge bonus. If I have to do it again I would probably still do it alone but having another person to help will make the install go in a lot faster. Total time for me was about 5 hours. I installed this in my SVT Raptor as a cheaper alternative to a chase rack. It holds all my gear and tools. I screwed in 5' E-Tracks and placed 4 ring fittings to ratchet down my spare tire. This product works great on and off road, with proper packing of my gear there is no shift and the extra weight in the back helps with traction. You do loose a little over half you bed volume but the trade off is 2 full truck tool boxes that are easy to access. I can fit a standard 48" high lift jack, high lift base plate, winch anchor (foldable), 2 tow straps, snatch block, 8 tie down straps, spare winch synthetic rope, random assortment of bolts and zip ties, 4 d-rings, tow hitch hook, spare safety thimble. All this fits into one drawer. The other drawer I use for tools and random storage. I have seen reviews stating that it can be difficult to reach the back of the drawers, I have not had to much of an issue. I find it helpful to pack all my large items towards the back and have the rest of my gear in separate tool bags towards the front. All in all, I am very happy with this product. Bonus, If you put a large queen futon mattress on top of the unit. Add some large pillows, you have a great platform with the truck bed sides as arm rests to watch drive in movies and a romantic night watching the stars. My fiancé loves it. Jeffrey.
