2002 Pontiac Firebird Factory Wheels

My original equipment Corvette LR 18" wheel cracked at 54,000 miles and I could not find another polished aluminum wheel that was not also cracked, so I am very relieved that this chrome wheel looks very close to the original. I am a past Vice President and President of a Corvette club and past car show judge, so I am very particular about the way my car looks. The new wheel came within a week of being ordered and was boxed with a cloth cover and plastic to help keep the chrome protected. I was concerned that this chrome wheel would look a lot brighter than the original polished aluminum, but to my delight, there is not much difference at all. This cast wheel is 6.4 # heavier than the original forged wheel. I did notice that the car rides a little better with less road vibration at 65 MPH due to the additional unsprung mass of the wheel, but most people would probably not notice the difference. The quality of the wheel looks excellent with a nice luster to the chrome. The Chevrolet dealership used the Hunter Road Force balance machine and had no problems mounting and balancing the wheel. I could not be happier with this purchase.
