In the past, with an SUV you were limited to roof rack or hitch mount bike carriers, but now, with the Thule Spare Me Spare Tire Bike Rack, if you've got a rear-mounted spare tire, you can carry bikes there. The Spare Me mounts to the same studs your spare tire mounts to, with the included adapter plate. The rest of the carrier attaches to the adapter plate with one knob, so it can be easily installed when needed and removed and stored when it's not.
The Spare Me offers the same safe and secure bike transport that all Thule carriers are known for. It has T3™ Cradles that gently support your bikes' frames and anti-sway cages that attach to the cradles and vertical downtubes to prevent movement and bike-to-bike contact that could cause damage en route. The narrow rack arms enable the Spare Me to carry a wide range of bike sizes and styles. The bikes can be locked to the carrier with the included locking cable and the carrier can be locked to the vehicle with the locking knob.
The arms on the Spare me can be lowered when not in use to create room for parking and garaging. The Spare Me Spare Tire Bike Rack comes with everything required for installation, including detailed instructions. The limited lifetime warranty applies to the original purchaser of the product, and warrants the product against manufacturer's defects in materials or workmanship.
