Spark plugs ignite fuel in your Land Rover Discovery’s engine by means of an electric spark. Sure enough, an electric spark requires electricity; the mighty, high-voltage one. The job of generating this electricity is handed over to the alternator. Then 12V current goes to the ignition coils, which convert this current into the high-voltage one.
