Balance shafts are used to counteract the vibration inherent in 4-cylinder and some V-6 engines. They typically rotate on plain bearings and require a constant supply of engine oil for lubrication during engine operation. Balance shaft seals prevent engine oil from leaking past the rotating shaft. This balance shaft seal is designed as an OEM quality replacement for your worn-out or leaking balance shaft seal.
