DASH KIT INSTALLATION
Our dash kits are available to you complete with instructions for do-it-yourself installation.
The following is an Installation Guide for both "Flat Overlay Components", and the 3-D Molded "Dash-Cap-System" components. Note: Some kits include both Flat & 3-D Parts.
1. Interior vehicle temperature should be minimum 72°F.
2. Make sure to read instructions carefully to determine those specific to your type of trim components:
FLAT OVERLAY - Flat pieces, not three dimensional
3-D MOLDED - Three dimensional, thin components
3. Install the smallest pieces first, to familiarize yourself with the process.
IF DASH TREATMENTS SUCH AS ARMOR-ALL WERE APPLIED, wipe all dash surfaces the trim will be attached to, with a clean cotton cloth dampened with Wax & Grease Remover. The surface must be perfectly oil free. Do not use strong lacquer thinners because it might eat through the plastic and destroy the lettering. You must repeat this process several times to ensure thorough cleaning of the dash, or the pieces will not adhere properly. We recommend Prep-ALL Wax & Grease Remover. (click here for more info)
LET'S GET STARTED!

Without removing the red liner and exposing the adhesive, make sure each piece sure each part of your kit fits correctly in its designated place. If something doesn't match or looks damaged, please contact us right away.
If you are installing a Flat Dash Overlay this will help you establish the areas to be covered with 3M Adhesive Promoter.
* Ensure that buttons and vents move freely.

Clean the specific dash areas that are to be covered by the trim thoroughly with Isopropyl Alcohol. The surface area should be free of lint or dirt, and more specifically silicone based "Vinyl Treatment Products". These products leave a silicone residue that will greatly reduce adhesion.
Caution!!! Vehicles that have been treated with Vinyl Treatments need to be thoroughly cleaned until the surface area is dull in appearance, and there is no feel of residue to the touch of your fingers. Special care should be taken on any used vehicle. The surface can be tested with a piece of masking tape in order to see if it will adhere.

Apply 3M #4298 Adhesive Promoter to all areas being covered by the Trim Components. Allow to dry (5 minutes) before applying trim pieces. (Flat Overlay pieces only)
Caution!!! Adhesive Promoter is corrosive, be careful not to drip it onto any area not being covered by the Dash Trim, as it will permanently discolor whatever it comes in contact with. Rubber Gloves are recommended during this process. Preparation for adhesion is the most important factor in a quality installation.
* Adhesion Promoter pens or packets dry up very fast. This is the step where the promoter application should be done at a quick pace.

With a Standard Utility Knife catch the corner of the Red Liner on the 3M tape and remove on all pieces. After installing the trim do not handle for a period of 72 hours.
3-D Molded Dash
Once the Red Liner is completely removed, use the "Dash Spray" provided and lightly mist the tape surface. This will reduce the tape tack upon initial contact, and will help reduce premature contact that can prevent the dash from fully bottoming-out.
Once you are comfortable with placement, apply the overlay straight and even, not right to left, or left to right. Press down, applying gentle to moderate pressure until the part is in place. Once the product is in place, inspect all areas for adhesion and gently press down on any areas required.

Flat Dash Overlay
Once Red Liner is removed gently press product into place. Large Components should be installed left to right to avoid center buckling. Never force a component that requires bending. If bend resistance is experienced, use a Hair Dryer as a heat source. This will soften the material and make it easier to bend into place. Once Dash Trim pieces are all in place, give all pieces a final press using your fingers, this will act as a final visual inspection before the tape cures.
Now that you have successfully installed your product, keep it looking like new by following these simple care instructions.
Clean using a dirt free towel polish dash using water, or standard household Window Cleaner.
Avoid Vinyl Treatment products.
