No matter how good your brakes are, you can have a collision if you can’t see the obstacle and react in time to press the brake pedal. At 60 mph, your vehicle travels 88 ft. in just one second, so the slightest hesitation due to poor visibility can spell disaster. You can be assured of clear vision under any weather conditions with quality wiper blades. Shop our extensive selection right now and be prepared for whatever Mother Nature has in store.

Like tires, air filters, and brake shoes, wiper blades are components that require periodic replacement. Unfortunately, most drivers neglect them and only realize that new ones are needed when their vision is compromised during a rain or snow storm. Be proactive and inspect your blades regularly for damage to the rubber squeegee and supporting steel superstructure. Symptoms of worn blades include streaking, splitting, chattering and squeaking.

Testing has shown that most wiper blades only provide optimum performance for about 6 months, so it’s a good idea to replace them at that interval regardless of their appearance. Our selection of blades includes sizes for all popular vehicles, including rear wipers, in styles to suit every type of weather. We even have performance blades in your choice of colors, including dual blades with a corrosion resistant polycarbonate frame. These blades will directly replace your factory blades and add colorful custom style to your ride along with exceptional performance.

If you live in a temperate climate that sees very little snow, then conventional frame-type blades will provide excellent performance. These typically have a durable steel superstructure with claws to hold the natural rubber squeegee, and pivots and joints that enable the framework to flex and apply even pressure to the blade. This type of blade has been installed as original equipment on millions of cars and trucks and our replacement blades provide OE equivalent quality and performance. This replacement blade is also often the most affordably priced as well, making it a great value.

However, if where you drive experiences significant snowfall and icy temperatures, you should consider winter wiper blades. On conventional blades, the open spaces in the latticework can become clogged with ice and snow, which can prevent the blade from conforming to the windshield and create areas that go unwiped. Winter blades have a cover that encloses the superstructure, or they can be beam-type blades that have no latticework. Both covered blades and beam type blades inhibit the buildup of ice and snow.

Instead of framework, beam-type blades use a flat piece of spring steel encased in plastic to ensure the squeegee conforms to the contour of the windshield. This type of blade is ideal for winter, but can also be used year round. Many premium blades have upgraded squeegee material, with rubber that is impregnated with silicone or coated with Teflon or graphite to help keep ice and snow from sticking to the blade. Beam blades have a lower, more aerodynamic profile that is not susceptible to windlift, and improved materials provide longer service life.

Along with new wiper blades, you can further improve your foul weather driving visibility with Rain-X® Glass Treatment. Rain-X applies a layer of water repelling molecules to your windshield that forms a barrier to repel rain, sleet, snow, and ice. With Rain-X, water will bead on your windshield, for a dramatic improvement in visibility, and better visibility means improved driver response time and safer driving in inclement weather. Rain-X glass treatment is extremely easy to apply, just make sure the glass surfaces are clean and dry and the temperature is above 40°F.

2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek / Posted by Virginia (Franconia, NH) /

Once I get them on they are awesome. I'm constantly having frost and ice, but these are good all year round. So much more rugged than the Subaru factory set!
