Mud Flaps & Splash Guards

The aggressive tread on truck and SUV tires is great for traction, but those deep grooves can collect stones that can end up being hurled against fenders and rocker panels, causing scratches, dings and chipped paint. Intercept mud, dirt, stones and other debris before it reaches your vehicle’s finish with a set of mud flaps. We offer a large selection of mud guards for all popular trucks and SUVs, including universal and custom molded designs.

WeatherTech® - Mud Flaps

Besides the unsightly appearance, stone chips can end up becoming rust holes if the paint chips down to bare metal, particularly if you live in northern climes where the roads are salted in winter. The salt laden slush enters the moisture trapping crevices created by the stones, eventually causing rust through if not repaired in time. You can prevent the need for expensive body repair by installing mud flaps at each wheel well.

Mud flaps will keep your vehicle looking cleaner longer and make it easier to clean as well. Road tar is another common substance thrown up by the tires onto the vehicle body. Tar can cause permanent damage to your vehicle’s finish, it’s difficult to remove, and the harsh chemicals required for removal can also damage paint if not used properly. The solution is to keep road tar from collecting in the first place with a set of mud flaps.

Guides & Articles
In the old days, when trucks were driven by farmers, contractors, and construction workers, and the rest of us drove cars, mud flaps were seen as one of the most utilitarian of accessories. When a plumber with a new pickup truck wanted to minimize how much slush splashed up on the sides of his new ride, he drove to the local car parts store, bought a set of...

2013 Chevy Silverado | Posted by Bard | (Algard, AA)

First of all the most important thing with mud guards are coverage, these leaves a big gap under the fender to collect a lot of debris and irritation. Secondly these mud guards are not "easy" plug and play installation. Unless you have an angle drill you need to remove the rear wheel. Have someone to hold the mudguard in place while you drill 4 off 1/8" holes in your fender all must line up. So no holding and drilling by yourself is a bad idea. I am not claiming this requires a lot of skills, but it is far easier ways to do this. Like including a paper template for drilling the holes for instance. Other than that they seem strong enough so they will last, unfortunately the gap will give you an area of no coverage so you need to cover the area for stone chip paint or similar.
