When Mercedes-Benz, the German automaker, decided to replace the C-class based CLK by new E-class based coupe, the officials revealed that this coupe is about 60 percent based on the architecture of the E-class model. New reports are actually stating that the CLK is not likely to be discontinued. As stated by Top Speed, the automaker is reviving the CLK nameplate in 2011.
Compared to its last position, the next-generation CLK is moving down-scale though. Recognized as the E-class coupe earlier inspite of the C-class underpinnings, the 2011 model is now expected to feature its C-class roots.
Taking on the styling of the C-class sedan, the 2011 CLK is really creating the C-class coupe.
