    About Jeep Wrangler Parts

The Jeep Wrangler is a direct heir and a worthy successor of the first classic Jeep's SUV. This is a very versatile vehicle. For someone, the Jeep Wrangler is a hardy and unpretentious "workhorse" and for someone, it is a powerful and reliable "ATV" that can drive in such a wilderness where there is no road at all. Deep track of filled with mud ditches, steep and muddy climbs after a heavy rain - nothing can stand in the way of the Jeep Wrangler. Thanks to impressive ground clearance, the Wrangler can overcome any obstacles. This SUV will not be stopped with a small water stream since it is able to overcome even a deep ford.

Turn Your Wrangler Into Pickup Truck

Jeep has produced an aftermarket package for the Wrangler's owners and set a price tag at $5499. The JK-8 kit made it public appearance at the 2011 Jeep Moab Safari. Using this package, the engineers managed to transform the Wrangler Unlimited into Wrangler Unlimited pickup in one hour. The JK-8 is sold in any Jeep, Chrysler, Ram and Dodge dealerships. Mopar dealership can assist the drivers in package installation. Such kits comes with a three-year, 36,000 mile warranty.

The conversion kit includes body panel reinforcements, made of stamped sheet metal, new, shortened roof panel, manufactured of fiberglass, and a converted sport bar. The installation will require drilling as some body panels need to have spot welds. Moreover, it will be necessary to remove bumpers, doors and roof.

Jeep says the appearance of the 1981 CJ-8 Scrambler inspired the engineering team to produce this kit. This model was popular until 1986, when the Comanche pickup was unveiled. Rumors go that Jeep is hard at work to produce a new pickup truck, but the official confirmation has not been released yet.

Jeep to wait for results of NHTSA investigation
Jeep to wait for results of NHTSA investigation

Since 1970 the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) closely cooperates with the automotive industry and is appointed to be responsible for realization of programs, aimed to reduce injuries, death and economic losses caused by vehicle crashes. One of the main grounds for the safety agency to start the probe is the certain quantity of complaints received from the vehicles' owners. This time the defect investigation department received complaints from the drivers of the 2007-2008 Jeep Wranglers, made by Chrysler Group LLC. The vehicles of these model years were built at Jeep's plant in Toledo, Ohio. The ground of the consumer complaints is the improper work of electrical circuit in the airbag clock-spring wiring. This means the front seat airbag may not deploy in a collision. According to the preliminary estimation about 220,000 Wranglers may be affected. The safety agency received 29 complaints and started the investigation on the 23rd of May. Until now none of the reports contained the information about injuries or crashes. According to the NHTSA, both left-hand-drive and right-hand-drive Wranglers may be affected.

Now the owners of 2007-2008 Jeep Wranglers are to wait for the end of the probe and for the relevant report, made by the safety agency. Not every investigation of the NHTSA leads to recall. Last week the NHTSA investigated the problems with Toyota Corollas. Fortunately for Toyota, no recall was ordered.

Meet the 2011 Jeep Wrangler 70th Anniversary Edition

2011 marks the 70th anniversary of Jeep, the iconic manufacturer whose name has become synonymous with a sport utility vehicle in general. To observe this occasion, Jeep is releasing special editions of its SUVs: Wrangler, Compass, Grand Cherokee, Liberty and Patriot.

The Jeep Wrangler 70th Anniversary Edition can not boast serious front-end upgrades. There are basically just two of them: an anniversary logo and a set of unique 18” wheels. Things get more interesting inside the 2011 Wrangler. Special edition interior includes Dark Olive seats with perforated leather inserts and Chestnut stitching, leather steering wheel, Berber floor mats with Chestnut binding, unique cluster overlay and needles, satin-chromed HVAC rings and other features. The special version of the Jeep Wrangler will be available in a unique Bronze Star paint, in addition to Bright Silver and Black. As far as performance is concerned, the festively designed Wrangler will not feature any powerplant upgrades. It will basically come with a 3.8-liter V6 sequential multi-port injection engine that produces 202 horsepower.

The price for the holiday-dressed 2011 Jeep Wrangler starts at $28,670 for 2-door models and $31,370 for Unlimited models. All 70th Anniversary Edition models will arrive in Jeep showrooms in the first quarter of 2011.
