The Max Energy series of gasoline and diesel engine tuners from Hypertech® gives you the ability to increase power, mileage, and towing ability along with other great features the competitors don't offer. But first, Max Energy series come loaded to optimize timing and fuel curves at all rpm levels, across all throttle openings for your specific vehicle. What does this mean? Economy is increased at part throttle and steady cruising applications, and usable horsepower and torque are increased when the throttle is used more aggressively, or when towing mode is selected. Controlling electronic automatic transmission functions keeps the torque converter from unlocking and gears from downshifting when you need steadier drivability for towing. Additionally, you can expect to see fuel economy gains of 2 to 6 miles per gallon depending on driving conditions. All Max Energy units come with a USB cable and CD for initial activation using your computer. Should new software tunes for your specific vehicle be introduced in the future, they can easily be downloaded from Hypertech's internet site.

If you have a V8 engine with a cylinder cutoff mode to run on 4 cylinders, the Max Energy Gasoline Power Programmer allows you to vary the parameters of when that occurs, or turn the cutoff function off altogether. For vehicles originally designed to run on lower octane regular gasoline, a performance enhancing algorithm is created for running on regular octane. And if you wish to use super unleaded in your lower-octane rated vehicle, a second power level is created to adapt fuel and timing to make the most out of it – something your vehicle won't do on its own. A speedometer calibrator function allows correction of speedometer readings when non-stock tires or gear ratios are installed. If that's not enough, the Max Energy programmer also reads and clears diagnostic trouble codes so you can turn check engine lights off. All Hypertech products are backed with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Since its founding in 1985 in Tennessee, Hypertech® has been an industry leader in engine power enhancement through the use of software enhancements. 3-Year Factory Direct Limited Warranty

All Hypertech Power Tuning Products are warrantied against defects in materials or workmanship. Hypertech’s liability under this warranty shall be limited to the prompt correction or replacement of any defective part of the product which Hypertech determines to be necessary. This 3-Year Factory Direct Limited Warranty applies to the original purchaser for the term of three (3) years after the initial sale of the Hypertech product. Resold units, units sold by 3rd-party vendors and/or non-authorized Hypertech dealers, and obsolete or discontinued products are not covered under this warranty.

The 3-Year Factory Direct Limited Warranty applies to React Throttle Optimizers, Max Energy 2.0 Power Programmers, Max Energy Power Programmers, Interceptors, Speedometer Calibrators, In-Line Speedometer Calibrator Modules, and Power Chips for GM. Accessories such as but not limited to Power Caps, Power Coil Kits, and Fuel Pressure Regulators have a one (1) year warranty.

Before taking your vehicle in for service

If you take your vehicle to a dealer or mechanic for service, you must first remove the Hypertech Power Tuning and restore the stock programming. This is because diagnostic devices expect to find stock calibrations and will often overwrite the program if the latest stock calibration is not found in the computer’s memory. This will result in the loss of your Hypertech Power Tuning data. The Power Tuning can be easily removed to restore the stock tuning before you take your vehicle in for service, enabling the service technician to upgrade your stock calibrations. After the service is complete, you can reinstall your Hypertech Power Tuning.

Hypertech products are street-legal and clean

In the interest of improved air quality, the California Air Resources Board (CARB) requires new vehicle and manufacturers of aftermarket parts to develop engine and emissions equipment that either reduce or maintain specific air pollutants affected by vehicle use. Both the California Vehicle Code (Section 27156) and Federal Clear Air Act (administered by the Environmental Protection Agency) prohibit modifications that increase vehicle emissions.

Hypertech includes meeting all E.O. requirements in its product development process. This guarantees that users of Hypertech Power Tuning products will meet certification requirements when registering, selling or needing to pass various emissions tests or Inspection and Maintenance (I&M) programs administered by state or local enforcement agencies. So, on an ongoing basis, Hypertech obtains and includes CARB E.O.s for its emissions-related products. This ensures these products are not detrimental to ambient air quality and meet requirements necessary for their legal sale and use. Make sure that any emissions-related product you buy and install carries an E.O. number. Without this verification, you are at risk, in potential violation of regulations and may incur unnecessary financial obligations during the vehicle inspection.

Impressive Product and More Impressive Customer Service

Hypertech® - Max Energy™ Programmer

The package comes with everything you need other than the Windows computer... duh. My particular vehicle hadn't been calibrated for, I guess no one is trying to gain power from their 2008 Focus, so I needed to update the Max Energy unit with the provided USB cable. The PDF instructions are out of date, but if you know anything about computers, it is easy enough to translate from old to new language. I called Hypertech and spoke with a gentleman who quickly got the word to the programmer that my vehicle wasn't in their calibration files and, while the instructions say to allow for one to three days turn around time in a case like mine, I got an email within 15 minutes of getting off the phone with them stating that my unit was ready for update. Noticeably more torque down low and much quicker throttle response. As long as you are patient, expect the unit to be updated, and allow the professionals at Hypertech to help you, I cannot recommend this unit enough. Simple to program, easy to return to stock programming for California smog, and well priced for the performance and support you get. Also, Hypertech is based out of Tennessee, so you get to support a tuner here in the United States, always a plus.

Hypertech Programmer

My mechanic installed my programmer. He had a few questions, but when he called the Hypertech reps, they were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Although, the price was a little high, CARiD "price-matched" and I am very satisfied.
