The company was set up in 2001 and the same year it developed the long arm suspension system for the Jeep Grand Cherokee which was soon afterwards introduced at the Grand Slam East event. In 2002 it began designing a TJ long arm, 4-link rear suspension system. After releasing the kit, the company became the first manufacturer to provide long arm suspension kits for most Jeep models such as XJ, TJ, ZJ, and WJ. Apart from suspension parts, Clayton Off Road also has extensive experience in manufacturing driveshafts, gears, transfer cases, lockers, and custom-axle assemblies.

In 2007, with the new JK coming in the market, the company started to assess what kind of lift was needed. With the improvements of the JK design, Clayton Off Road engineered a standard length-based control-arm suspension system. While manufacturing its products the company pays particular attention to their reliability. It uses the latest technologies, namely CNC press brakes, laser cutters, turning centers, and millers to manufacture top-quality suspension parts which ensure great off-road performance as well as resistance to bending or breaking. All the products the company offers are tested to prove they meet the strictest requirements and outperform competitors' products. That's why when choosing Clayton Off Road parts, be ready to enjoy trouble-free off-roading for years.
