2012 Ford Fusion Custom Headlights

I love the way these look on my 2012 Ford Fusion Hybrid, and the sequential effect of the integrated turn signals is nice too (although I’d prefer the sequence to be slower than it is), but for actually doing the job of illuminating the road ahead at night these absolutely suck. The low beams only cast light about 3 or 4 car lengths ahead, and even that light is dangerously lacking uniformity. There’s a completely black zone on the upper right edge of the driver’s side field of vision exactly where a pedestrian ahead would step off a curb or a deer would dart across the road, creating a nighttime blind spot that could have disastrous consequences. I have ordered the LED upgrade package (which is ludicrously expensive) in hopes that will resolve this issue once installed, but if it doesn’t I will be returning the whole thing and filing a report with the NTSB about these headlights.
