Volvo has declared its plans to start the production of the C30 Electric for European consumers this fall. There will only be 250 units of the C30 made, and all of them will be handed over to the select government agencies, businesses, and municipal officials.
The 2012 Volvo C30 features a 110-horsepower electric engine, which is equipped with 24 kWh EnerDel Lithium-Ion battery. The top speed of the C30 slightly exceeds the 80 mph mark. It accelerates from 0 to 62 mph in 10.5 seconds. A fully charged Volvo C30 Electric is able to cover up to 100 miles on a single battery charge. The battery takes about 8 hours to regenerate.
On the outside, the vehicle is not significantly different from its Diesel and gasoline-powered siblings. With three doors, the C30 Electric doesn't resemble a family car, being more suitable for town dwellers who rarely use the backseat.
