If you always travel with a lot of gear and passengers, the Dash Pod offers a stylish way to secure your TrailDash unit out of harm’s way where it will not inconvenience anyone, get knocked over, or be spilled on. Its bottom surface edges are designed to match the exact shape of your Jeep’s dashboard for a seamless appearance that looks so right, your passengers will assume the whole assembly is factory original equipment. Installation is easy and all necessary pieces for mounting are included. Once your TrailDash unit is secured inside the Dash Pod, all control buttons are easily accessible. If you choose to remove the TrailDash screen, it slips in and out of the Dash Pod housing quickly and easily.
The cable that comes with the Traildash routes from your vehicle’s OBD II port behind the dashboard and pulls up by the base of the windshield. The original TrailDash cable is long enough to reach the center dashboard area, and requires no extension. The Dash Pod mounts easily to your dashboard using basic tools and self-tapping screws that are included. While some dash panel sections may need to be temporarily removed during installation, no cutting is required (see PDF file icon to see installation instructions). Superchips backs the Dash Pod with a 1-year warranty against manufacturing defects.
Founded in the United Kingdom as P.J. Detection Techniques in 1977, Superchips was originally involved in racing and became one of the first tuner companies to gain in-depth expertise on modifying engines equipped with electronic fuel injection systems. As engineering expertise grew on a variety of fuel systems and engine types, the company first debuted a line of power-enhancing performance products to the consumer market in England, then worldwide. After changing their name to Superchips in 1991, the company established itself in the United States a year later. The company grew to specialize in hand-held programmers and today remains on the cutting edge of turning modern computer-controlled vehicle functions into creative tuning applications. In 2005, Superchips was acquired by MSD Performance and became affiliated with MSD Ignition, Edge Products and Racepak parts. Today, Superchips USA is based out of Sanford, Florida and performs all production in the United States.
