The Porsche 924 was mainly designed to replace the entry-level 914 and finally retire the old 912. This luxury 2+2 coupe was produced by Porsche AG between 1976 and 1988. In the meantime, the 924 became the first Porsche model with front-engine configuration and a modified rear transaxle for more correct weight distribution. It was the first Porsche car to be equipped with a fully automatic transmission. The chassis, suspension, and styling were all very well conceived.
