Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Trailer Hitches

    About Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Trailer Hitches

The 88 series is largely seen as the image of the Oldsmobile brand. This is undoubtedly so because of its relatively small size, light weight and advanced overhead valve, high-compression v8 engine. The 88 has a great engine capacity and is able to carry heavy loads, though it is not spacious. Use of Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight trailer hitches can greatly enhance the load performance of the 88. Trailer hitches are connecting pieces that are mounted to the vehicle and then attached to the load. Shopping for the trailer hitch is crucial if you want to enjoy a hassle free drive and a convenient trailing experience. The wrong trailer hitch can damage the frames of your vehicle and bumpers. Good choice is therefore life to your frames. A trailer hitch is deemed to be good when safety, convenience and durability blend together. One that lacks any of these can seriously damage your vehicle. Buy yours at CARiD and you won’t have to worry about these qualities at all.

Trailer hitches available for the 88 at CARiD are custom made to ensure that you will never get stranded when driving. The Cass Two frame trailer hitch with 1¼” receiver and the class two ball mount for 1¼ receiver are perfect for heavy loads. Classification of trailer hitches is based on the weight the trailer hitches can bear. They are five classes available. Class one to Class four hitches are able to handle weights up to 10000 pounds. The fifth class caters for very heavy weights from 10000 pounds. Knowledge of classes is vital in determining the right hitch for your vehicle. Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight Trailer hitches fall in the first and fourth class under the category of weight bearing and weight distributing trailer hitches. It is important to note that using a strong trailer hitch for light loads is workable but using a weaker trailer hitch for heavier loads is not workable.

Here at CARiD we have a loyal set of customers, and they are very involved with their cars. That means using them in many ways, or racing them or towing them to car shows on trailers. They know towing, is what we’re saying. And 6 of them left a number of reviews with an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars. We know you’ll feel the same way after towing your toys around, whether it’s a race car, a trailer full of quads or motorcycles or personal watercraft or full-on camper. CARiD has the parts you need to support your hobby!

When you’re setting up your trailer with a new tow vehicle, several things need to be considered: the ball mount and ball must be rated to take the weight, and the ball has to be at the right height. Once you have determined the proper weight class, choose a ball mount of a high enough class for your trailer, and set up your ball mount and ball for proper towing. Here's how you do that.

"Very satified with this hitch step. It is exactly as described. The only thing I had to do was modify the anti rattle clamp. I made mine out of 1/2" steel bar stock totaly eliminated any rattling."
