The gates themselves are constructed from heavy-duty nylon plastics and high-quality anodized aluminum, with the clips, locating pins, and locking mechanisms machined out of stainless steel, with landing feet and pads being made out of rubber.

No tools will ever be required for installation, which will take only minutes. You raise the locking handle, then adjust the landing posts to the width of the truck bed by using the locating pins, and then press the Original Cargo Gate onto the bed floor in such a way that its rubber feet will grip. And… press the actual locking handle until you hear a click. That’s it - you’re done. The truck bed cargo gate works with various ribbed bed liners, with the feet being adjusted so that they can be placed to fit in-between the liner ribs or in-between the ribs of the bed itself.

The construction of the compression cam within the handle itself is the key. After adjusting the landing post and holding down the handle, the action of the cam presses the landing posts out – while applying a force of almost 300 PSI against the inside edges of the bedrails. The Original Cargo Gate will surely work on a variety of top-mounted systems, i.e. practically all of the camper shells and tonneau covers, for as long as it has the ability to contact with the side rails of the truck bed without interfering with the cover itself.
