The latest generation of the Rio is powered by a 1.2, 1.4 or a 1.6 L gasoline inline-four engine mated to a four-or six-speed gearbox. The diesel version of the Rio features a 1.1 or 1.4 L U-line engine. The performance-oriented version, known as the Rio GT, features a turbocharger.
