Scavenger Series Aluminized Steel Y-Collector (Y300400) by Flowmaster®. Primary Tubing Diameter: 3". Collector Outlet Diameter: 4". The patented Scavenger Y-Collector is based on the principles of Pulse Technology. They are designed to harmonize the exhaust pulses from two cylinders that are at the opposite ends of the combustion cycle. The Y-Collectors can be combined to a 3Y-configuration, by many found the most efficient collector configuration that can be tuned to yield lots of extra torque and power from the engine.

All Flowmaster Exhaust Components are tuned for maximum performance. The Collectors are no exception. Every little detail counts in racing, and the exhaust is one of the most decisive factors. By shaping the components of the exhaust system in a way that makes the system use the forces of the exhaust gases to create an “air pump” that sucks the gases out of the cylinders, it is possible to get more torque and horsepower from the engine. An improperly designed exhaust can rob the engine of a lot of power by reflecting the exhaust pulses back so that the outgoing pulse meets a reflected pulse and thus is stopped on its way out the exhaust pipe. The Collector is a critical point in the exhaust system. This is where a whole herd of horses can be lost or gained. The original Flowmaster technology was born on the racetrack over 25 years ago. There was urgent need for a sound solution for Sprint car racing at local California fairground events. Their sound level of the Sprint cars was deemed too high and the continuation of the racing was threatened by protests over the excessive noise. Flowmaster founder Ray Flugger invented and patented a new and innovative technology that not only resolved the excessive sound issues of these high-powered racecars, but also increased maximum horsepower and provided an increased and broader torque curve - an unheard of byproduct from competitive mufflers in use at the time.

Flowmaster® has its roots in solving the engine noise problems encountered by California racers in the 1980s. In 1983 Flowmaster’s founder, Ray Flugger, created his first patented design of racing silencers, which dampened noise with minimal loss of power. Ray attached handles to ease carrying the square shaped race mufflers through the race pits, and the mufflers became known as the "suitcase mufflers." Today, the innovative Flowmaster mufflers are the result of years of development with top race engine builders, thousands of hours of dyno research and "real-world" on-track testing.

Warranty

Lifetime Limited Warranty applies to Flowmaster stainless steel mufflers, stainless steel exhaust systems, stainless steel pipes, air intake kits and oiled type filters (except cleaning kits) and other stainless steel exhaust accessories (except exhaust tips).

Three (3) Year Limited Warranty applies to Flowmaster aluminized steel mufflers, aluminized steel exhaust systems, aluminized steel pipes, exhaust tips and other non-race exhaust accessories.

Two (2) Year Limited Warranty applies to Delta Force Dry air intake filter elements.

One (1) Year Limited Warranty applies to Elite Series exhaust headers and electronic components such as Delta Boost modules. Flowmaster, Inc. (“Flowmaster”) extends the following limited warranty to the original purchaser of its mufflers, exhaust systems, pipes, exhaust tips, headers and other non-race accessories (hereafter “products”), excluding catalytic converters sold under the Flowmaster® brand.

This catalytic converter is warranted to be free from defects in materials and workmanship subject to the exclusion and conditions set forth below and subject to the durational limits in this paragraph.

EPA Catalytic Converter Warranty: The stainless steel body and the nipples alone are warranted for 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. At the conclusion of the 5 year/50,000 mile or 25,000 mile period, whichever is applicable, all liability under this limited warranty shall terminate.

CARB Catalytic Converter Warranty: This catalytic converter has been designed and manufactured and is warranted to meet California Air Resources Board emission requirements for 50,000 miles. The stainless steel body and the nipples alone are warranted for 5 years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. At the conclusion of the 5 year/50,000 miles on stainless steel body and nipples or 50,000 miles on catalyst substrate, whichever is applicable, all liability under this limited warranty shall terminate.

Flowmaster warrants the products mentioned above against defects in materials and workmanship for the period set forth below, when they are owned by the original purchaser and remain installed on the vehicle on which they were originally installed. This warranty is void if the product was not installed properly on the vehicle, was installed on a vehicle for which it was not designed, or was removed from the vehicle on which it was originally installed and reinstalled on another vehicle. This warranty shall not apply to normal wear, cosmetic issues such as coatings and material discoloration, any product that was installed on a racing vehicle, installed improperly or contrary to Flowmaster instructions, altered, misused, repaired, damaged from an accident, collision, undercarriage road impact or debris, or willful or negligent act.

The warranty set forth herein for Flowmaster® stainless steel mufflers, stainless steel exhaust systems, stainless steel pipes and other stainless steel exhaust accessories (except exhaust tips) extends for a period of the life of the original vehicle the product was installed on. The warranty set forth herein for Flowmaster aluminized steel mufflers, aluminized steel exhaust systems, aluminized steel pipes, all exhaust tips and non-race exhaust accessories and commercial applications of aluminized steel products or stainless steel products extends for a period of three (3) years from the date of original purchase and the original vehicle it was installed on. The warranty set forth herein for Flowmaster exhaust headers extends for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase and the original vehicle it was installed on. Header warranty does not cover damages caused by exhaust insulating wrap, and is void if the product was installed on a new or rebuilt engine during the initial break-in period.

Flowmaster’s liability is expressly limited to the replacement of the product or refund of the purchase price as described herein. In no event shall Flowmaster be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential losses and/or damages, including but not limited to interruption of business or loss of business or loss of profit or damage to related components resulting from the use of or inability to use the product, or any breach of warranty or any defect in the product, even if Flowmaster shall have been advised of the possibility of such potential losses or damages. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you. This warranty gives you specific legal rights. You may also have other rights which may vary from state to state.

The warranties set forth herein are exclusive and unless otherwise required by applicable law no other warranties are made by Flowmaster® or are authorized to be made with respect to the product.

Good Quality Part

This is a good part that saves time in making a custom exhaust system. Good welds only with it, came in stainless.
